About Marc Lamberti (me)
Hi there 👋,
My name is Marc Lamberti, I’m 30 years old and I’m very happy to arouse your curiosity! During my previous job as a Data Engineer at a major online bank in France, I created ETLs to solve common banking problems. This includes a real-time monitoring platform to detect anomalies, a tool to identify suspicious transactions, and an ETL process to manage and analyze data with Cassandra. While I was creating and maintaining data pipelines, I came across Apache Airflow. My eyes were shining! It helped me so much to author, schedule, and monitor my data pipelines that I was sure other data engineers would be very happy to know more about it. Therefore, I created different courses on Udemy about Apache Airflow and joined Astronomer later on as the Head of Customer Education. My main focus is on Apache Airflow but you will find content related to other topics as well.
The biggest issue when you are a Data Engineer is dealing with the growing number of available open-source tools. It’s simply impossible to keep up with the pace of those releases coming out each month. Somehow, you have to know how, why and when to use them as well as how they connect to each other in order to build robust, secure, and performing systems to solve underlying business needs.
I firmly believe that the best way to learn and understand a new skill is by taking a hands-on approach with just enough theory to explain the concepts and a big dose of practice to be ready in a production environment. That’s why in each of my courses you will always find practical examples associated with theoric explanations.
